Girls Academy FAQ's
-
Will the GA teams compete in Colorado Soccer Association Leagues in addition to GA?
U15-U19 teams will compete only in the Girls Academy league, with supplemental games added to reach a full seasonal schedule. U13-U14 teams will compete in both the GA and CSA League. Additionally, there may be showcase tournament(s) on top of league commitments, which will be on a team by team basis.
-
If a player doesn't make the GA team or isn't invited to try out, should they then register for the Competitive Program or will the club move them there automatically?
All players will be required to complete player placement registration through our registration system, Playmetrics. Registration for this will open in early April. Players who do not make a GA team may still be able to play in BSC's second level elite platform, or may also play on a competitive team. Registration for all will be the same, with no need to complete multiple registrations.
-
What is the GA Player Identification process?
Players who are interested in playing for BSC's GA program should fill out the BSC GA Player Interest Form found under the 2022-2023 GA Player Identification tab. After filling out this form they will be contacted by a GA coach with further instructions.
-
When will roster decisions be made? Will we know if we are selected for GA before tryouts or will it be part of the normal notification process?
Throughout the GA Player Identification process coaches will be communicating with players/families the current status of players taking part, including both verbal offers and recommendations to try out for our second level elite program and/or our competitive level program. Additions to GA rosters can take place throughout the year. If a player is moved to a full time GA roster from a second level or competitive program team, there will be additional costs associated.
-
What is the expected frequency of travel for GA?
We will be participating in the GA Mountain Conference. We anticipate between 4-6 out-of-state travel instances.
-
Will the team be playing in-state tournaments if they are a GA team?
GA teams typically participate in in-state showcase and pre-season tournaments. This is determined on a team by team basis, and is dependent on the specific circumstances of each team.
-
Are the uniforms different for GA vs DPL vs Blast Competitive?
Uniforms for Girls Academy vs second level elite vs competitive program teams are nearly identical, with just one additional (GA) patch on the GA uniforms, and one patch on DPL uniforms. As this will be the second year of the two year uniform cycle, any players new to GA or DPL will be able to bring their uniform into the BSC office to have the required patch applied at no extra cost if they already own the uniform kit.
-
Is the GA a year long program?
Yes, there will be team activities throughout the year for all GA teams. During the high school season, the activities will be reduced to allow for high school play for U15-U19 age groups. Games during high school season are unavoidable due to the different high school season times of other members of our conference.
-
Can GA players play for their High School teams?
BSC supports players playing for their high school teams, and the GA allows for this.
-
Will there be two teams in the U18 and U19 age groups (2004/2003)?
The U18 and U19 age groups in the Girls Academy are combined to form one team. There are typically very few U19 players due to the age group chart aligning closely with the school year.
-
What is the cost to play for the Broomfield Soccer Club GA program?
The cost for the GA program is released when registration opens in early April.
